Here at Hound House Farm our goal is to be one of the BEST Miniature Dachshund Breeders not only in Texas but around the world. We are always working hard to be a step above in the Dachshund world, striving to only produce the finest quality Miniature Dachshund you can find. We are very confident and proud in our breeding program, feeling very lucky to have our fine four legged family members. We are always looking to improve with every breeding that takes place to produce the dachshund breed standard. Only the best will do!

We welcome you to take your time looking around our site. There are a lot of pages with helpful information that we have taken the time to put together for you. We hope it is useful, but we are here to be of assistance if you need additional info or have questions for us. As you tour our girls and boys pages, you will note most if not all are AKC, (American Kennel Club) and also ICKC, (International Canine Kennel Club), Champions, Grand Champions, International  Champions and Intercontinental Champions. Some may have been ranked in the top 10 in the country. We compete in conformation along with hunting in field trials, doing what dachshunds were bred to do and proving our dogs not only have the looks , they have the brains as well.  We work HARD to provide you with the best of the best. Yes, we have all those Champions, but we are here to cater to our Pet Families first and foremost and want to offer you the best quality dachshund we can provide for you in your new family member. Having Champions is just our personal goal.

Every breeding is carefully planned, taking into consideration each parent's strengths and faults so that we can match them up with the best mate possible. We do not produce quantity, ONLY quality. We have some very outstanding babies here that sport impressive pedigrees and are great specimens of the Dachshund breed. We never add a family member spontaneously or out of compulsion, lots of thought and research goes into each member here. We want the best so that we can give you the best.

 

There are several things that are expected of a Hound House Farm Dachshund so  we can assure you that you are getting a wonderful companion that will be with you for many years to come. First is a great disposition and personality, we will not breed a dog that has aggression issues. Our babies are very well socialized and will welcome you in our home. They will bark to let us know we have company, greet you with kisses and a "LOOK AT ME" attitude. Secondly we look for conformation. There is no such thing as "the perfect dachshund" but we sure do try to come close. We like to see lots of bone structure for a more sound and well put together dog along with a nice head, ear set, deep chest, almond shaped eyes and of course those low to the ground legs. We love the lush coats in our longhairs and the sleek silky look in our smooth coats. Last but not least is the color and pattern. Our colors include your classic reds and black and tans. We also have chocolate and tan along with the famous English Cream. We have babies in solid, dapple and piebald; in both long and smooth coats. We will never produce a double dapple.

 

We very much enjoy getting to know our potential doxie family members, therefore, we do require that you fill out a very simply puppy application so that we can get to know you better and try to match or help you decide on the best puppy for your family. Each puppy or dog has their own personality, that is why we love the Dachshunds breed so very much, so we try to learn what you are looking for in your new companion.

 

We will NOT under any circumstances sell to puppy mills, brokers, pet stores or anyone associated with them. Only the best families will do for our babies.
